ABOUT TAMMIE KAVAN
In April of 2006 I was journaling in my ‘secret garden’(overgrown backyard) when the idea of jewelry name tags flashed into my head. At the time, I had been doing a lot of business and social networking and was constantly complaining about wearing an ugly plastic nametag. I’m sure you can relate. After receiving this Divine AHA! I immediately started searching on the internet for some form of jewelry name tags. There weren’t any to be found…

Its funny how an idea can pop into your head and never leave. Even when you sleep! Everywhere I would go, watching tv, reading, ALWAYS something about jewelry name tags. I feel like I must have been a jewelry name tag in another life! I finally started talking about the idea with a few friends and family. This is usually the ‘kiss of death’ for most would-be entrepreneurs. However, EVERYONE thought it was a great idea and that I should go for it! Amazing! So I did.

Finding someone to sign a confidentiality agreement and make my proto-type proved to be a bit challenging. After talking to quite a few jewelry artists, my most precious jewelry name tag was created! Next on my path was to find a business partner. I wanted to share this journey…

I decided to attend a seminar in Chicago for people with entrepreneural spirit. The seminar was being given by National Bestselling author, Loral Langemier, The Millionaire Maker, and fellow Nebraskan. Since I remember Loral growing up I felt very confident I would learn great skills and find that perfect business partner.

I asked for a sign that I had made the right decision attending the seminar and that there was the perfect business partner in attendance. Upon my arrival, the desk clerk who was assisting me with checking-in to the hotel…his name tag fell off on to the counter. There was my first sign!

On the second night of the seminar I was having dinner with a group of people I had met on the first day. One of them mentioned that someone else would be joining us for dinner. In walks the most put together, beautifully dressed and accessorized woman I have ever seen. As fate would have it, her business background is in the jewelry industry, image consulting and event planning! Thank you for my second sign!

On the third and final day of the seminar all 250 of us in attendance were instructed to network within the room for 2 ½ hours selling our business services and at the end the top 4 salespeople will be recognized on the stage. At the time, my idea for jewelry name tags was a BIG secret except for a few trusted friends and family. So I just mingled. Guess who was one of the top 4 salespeople in the room? The woman from dinner the night before! Sign number three!

I ran over and congratulated her and told her I had a fantastic idea for a business venture and would like to talk. We set up a time to visit that following week . I went to retrieve my luggage from the bellman and as he handed it to me…his name tag fell off. The fourth sign!

When I shared my jewelry name tag idea with ReAnn Ring she immediately accepted my offer to become a business partner…without even seeing the proto-type! She got the vision! She has lived in Atlanta for 20 years but was born in NEBRASKA! THE FIFTH AND FINAL SIGN!

GLAMOUR TAGS WORLD WIDE was created!

ReAnn and I got busy calling and emailing MANY jewelry manufacturers in Rhode Island where the majority are located to set up appointments to visit with them. Out to Rhode Island we went! After many meetings with manufacturers we found the perfect one. They believe and share in the Glamour Tags vision…

It all started with a Divine AHA! moment.

Together we go as a team to revolutionize the name tag and jewelry industries!
